The Western Maryland Consortium offers a wide range of employment skills. Sometimes the biggest hurdle for a job seeker to overcome is the fear of interviewing, writing resumes, cover letters, thank you notes, and filling out job applications, especially if it has been a long time since you needed job search skills. The Western Maryland Consortium is prepared to assist you.

INTERVIEWING:

How would you respond to the following?
-Why are you the right person for this position?
-What are your abilities?
-Can you tell me about a time when you had a problem at work and how you resolved the problem? -Are you ready to be interviewed by a team?
-Do you know how to be positive about previous employment, while still being truthful?
-Do you know how to explain a poor work history or how to be specific about gaps in employment?

RESUMES, COVER LETTERS, AND THANK YOU NOTES:
When was the last time you had to prepare a resume?
-Did you know that today's employer demands a different resume than the one you would have written ten years ago?
